Joshua Tree National Park is located between Twentynine Palms and Interstate 10 in southern central California. It is named after, and home to, the unusual Joshua Tree. It is a popular retreat for San Diego and Los Angeles residents during the cooler months of the year but in the summer it usually hits 100 degrees Fahrenheit or more.

San Diego is located at the southern end of the California coastline and enjoys a wonderful climate year 'round. I don't get to San Diego very often but it is a special city to me after the time I spent there while serving in the United States Navy.
